On the September 18 episode of WWE Raw, Becky Lynch issued an open challenge for anyone to step to her and challenge for the NXT Women's Championship.
Natalya answered the call, losing to Lynch.
Fightful Select reported that Tegan Nox was scheduled to answer the open challenge and that Lynch pushed to wrestle Nox.
On the September 25 episode of WWE Raw, Lynch confronted Nox backstage and said she had hoped Tegan would answer the call, wanting her to step on some toes to get to where she needs to be.
Speaking to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Lynch was asked if she pushed to wrestle Nox.
"There is full truth in that. That was one of the things that I wanted to do with this title. I wanted to have open challenges for the women who haven’t been getting opportunities, women that have been in the back that love wrestling and that want an opportunity and haven’t been able to get it," she said.
Lynch, should she defeat Tiffany Stratton at NXT No Mercy, will face Tegan Nox on the October 2 episode of WWE Raw.
