Becky Lynch Wants An Equal Opportunity, Talks Smackdown Title Plans

Becky Lynch wants women wrestlers to get equal opportunities to succeed as their male counterparts.

Lynch is just one many WWE Superstars to take part in this year's San Diego Comic Con and spoke on the current state of the women's division in WWE in a panel.

She spoke highly of the fact that she was the first woman to be drafted to SmackDown in the WWE Draft on July 19, but was unsure about the future of the brand carrying a women's title as the WWE Women's Championship is on RAW as of this writing with Sasha Banks.

“It was an honor to be the first woman drafted to SmackDown," Lynch said. "I’m delighted I get to be on it with AJ Styles here. I’m curious what they’re going to do with titles. I have no idea to be honest with you. Obviously that’s the reason we’re here and what we’re fighting for, and I want to be a women’s champion. I don’t know if we’re gonna bring our own title, if I have to go to RAW and attack Charlotte, seeing as everyone’s always attacking me. It’s a big opportunity and I’m excited.”

Lynch said that the way the "Divas Revolution" was booked felt like it was---------- "guerilla warfare." The "Lass Kicker" stated the women can wrestle like the men and that they just need equal opportunities and not make a big deal about it.

“Sometimes women were depicted as catty, and we all secretly hate each other," Lynch said. "I think I’d change that. I think sometimes the storyline is as simple as we’re just going to be the best, and we’re going for the championships, and we all don’t secretly hate each other consistently. I think that’s one thing, I’d like more time. I’d like there to be consistently more women’s storylines going on at the same time. Have storylines going on, like they have a bunch of lads storylines going on. That’s what I’d like to see different.”

You can watch the full panel from Comic Con, which also features The New Day and AJ Styles, above.
