Becky Lynch Wants Intergender Match Sanctioned Against SmackDown Superstar

Becky Lynch is lobbying to wrestle in an intergender match for WWE.

Lynch tweeted out a response to a fan who requested she take on James Ellsworth, mentioning Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan -- the on-screen authority figures for the Smackdown brand -- in her reply.

Lynch and Ellsworth have had a few physical interactions before, most notably at WrestleMania 33 during the Six Pack Challenge match for the Smackdown Women's Title.

Intergender wrestling was a regular occurrence in WWE during the Attitude Era -- most notably when Chyna competed in the Royal Rumble and even won the Intercontinental Title. Through the years, Lita, Trish Stratus, and a variety of others all have had physicality with male wrestlers. After the company went to a PG product within the past 10 years, intergender interactions have all but disappeared from WWE -- much less an actual match between a male and a female.

Still, Ellsworth and Lynch continued to go back and forth on Twitter, playing up the possibility of a potential match between them:

Lynch, curiously, has only had one appearance on TV for SmackDown in the three episodes since WrestleMania, when she was in the ring as newcomers to the blue brand Tamina and Charlotte were introduced as part of the Superstar Shakeup.
