Becky Lynch Retains WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title At WWE SummerSlam

Becky Lynch retained the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE SummerSlam, defeating Lyra Valkyria in a street fight.
The finish saw Bayley accidentally hit Lyra with a steel chain after Becky ducked. Becky followed up with a manhandle slam before pinning Lyra for the three count.
Bayley got involved after Becky was going to crack Lyra, who had been trapped in a steel chair, with a crowbar. Bayley prevented Becky, who told Bayley to hit Lyra with the crowbar. Bayley refused, leading to a brawl between Bayley and Becky before Lyra got free and back into the match.
Lyra spent the majority of the match with her hands ziptied together, but managed to get free after using fire extinguisher to blind Becky and buy herself some time.
This was the third successful title defense for Becky, who won the title from Lyra at WWE Money in the Bank.
As per the stipulation for the match, Lyra can no longer challenge for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship as long as Becky Lynch is the champion.
