Beth Phoenix made an appearance at WWE Day 1.
At the New Year's Day event, The Miz and Edge faced off in a match that saw both men score numerous two-counts. Near the end of the match, Maryse got involved, hitting Edge while the referee was distracted which allowed Miz to hit the Skull Crushing Finale.
Edge would kick out, prompting Maryse to get on the ring apron and try to cause another distraction. Things didn't work out for her, however, as Edge's significant other and fellow WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix came to his aid, chasing off Maryse and pulling away Miz's attention long enough for Edge to hit a spear for the pin and win.
This is the first time Beth has been seen on WWE TV since NXT WarGames at the start of November. The Glamazon had been part of the NXT commentary team since May 2019. She last competed in the ring in the 2020 Women's Royal Rumble match. It is not yet known if she will start appearing alongside Edge on Monday nights.
