Bianca Belair: 'I Just Don't Want My Legacy To Be Trumped By 26 Seconds'

Bianca Belair explains why a WrestleMania rematch with Becky Lynch could be career-defining.

Bianca Belair had a historic 2021. She became the first black woman to ever win a Royal Rumble match, making her only the second black wrestler to ever win the Royal Rumble, she and Sasha Banks became the first two women to ever headline WrestleMania in a singles match, she also won a Hell in a Cell match against Bayley and then at SummerSlam, all her momentum seemed to be halted by a returning Becky Lynch.

Becky defeated Bianca in 26 seconds to regain the SmackDown Women's Championship. In due time, both women ended up on Monday Night Raw and now, only the Elimination Chamber stands in the way of Bianca Belair’s Redemption against Becky Lynch on the grandest stage of them all.

Speaking to Mark Andrews on his BBC podcast, My Love Letter to Wrestling, Bianca opens up about why she feels she needs the opportunity to rewrite history and undo the SummerSlam loss, fearing that her entire legacy will be undone by 26 seconds in August 2021.

“I say I want to show who I am. Without the title, I feel like I've done that. But now it's time for me to get the title back. That doesn't mean I don't want the title, I definitely do and that's definitely the goal,” Bianca said. “At the end of the day, I'm checking my perspective and trying to stay positive after SummerSlam. But I, at the end of the day, still have that feeling of I want to come full circle, and I want to get my redemption and rewrite the history of the 26 seconds. So that's definitely my goal, going into Elimination Chamber and trying to win and hopefully, bring things back full circle and go back to WrestleMania, I feel like I had a great year, and I just don't want my legacy to be trumped by the 26 seconds, I want to overcome that and just, too, be an inspiration for other people. I feel like people give up on their dreams so easily, you know, and you just got to keep going. You can't let up,” Bianca concluded.

Bianca has a good shot at winning the Elimination Chamber as she will enter the match last because she won a Gauntlet match on Monday, February 14, 2022.
