Bianca Belair: It's A Great Time To Be A Woman In WWE

Bianca Belair is the reigning WWE Raw Women's Champion and has been a staple of the division for well over a year, competing in back-to-back high profile matches at WrestleMania, including headline night one of WrestleMania 37.

Women in WWE have been spotlighted more than ever in recent years following the women's revolution, but Alfonso A. Castillo of Newsday pointed out that "The treatment of women in WWE has been in the news of late."

Following up, Castillo asked Belair what it's like being a woman and working under male managers in WWE.

"I feel like I'm in WWE in an amazing time, when women are really at the forefront of not just the future, but the present. Women are main eventing on a weekly basis on Raw and SmackDown. We're main eventing at premium live events. We’re main eventing and stealing the show at WrestleMania. Most of the women in WWE are trending on a weekly basis. So, I'm just here in an amazing time. And I'm blessed and fortunate to be the Raw Women's Champion and be the face of the women's division on the Raw side . . . It's just a really great time to be a woman in WWE," replied Belair.

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon retired on Friday amid the WWE board investigating him for alleged sexual harassment and hush money.

Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were named Co-CEOs of the company following McMahon stepping down.

Belair is set to defend her Raw Women's Championship against Becky Lynch at WWE SummerSlam. Fans can check out the current lineup for the event by clicking here.
