In December of 2022, Big Damo would make a post on X noting that ‘some wrestlers are just fuckin’ stupid’, which is a post that is constantly brought back up by wrestling fans when a negative story about a wrestler comes across the news. Now, he has addressed it in a new inteview.
While speaking to Joel Pearl and Jeremy Lambert on In The Weeds, Big Damo spoke about the tweet.
“Oh my God. It’s actually getting worse, to be honest. I put that out just, you know, events at the time were annoying. But, like, I get tagged on it every week or there’s something new. I need to reiterate as much as possible to people. We do get hit in the head for a living, we do make (mistakes), we fall over, you know, we do get hurt and you probably shouldn’t listen to us outside of what we do in the ring. That should probably go across the board. There are a few people who are very intelligent, you know, like my wife and everything else. But in general, if one of my colleagues is posting something online, just don’t look. Just don’t look. Maybe that’s the best thing. No, there are lots of wonderful people in wrestling. There are, but yeah. Sadly, just like any sport or any job that you might have, there’s going to be somebody sitting a few cubicles down from you who’s talking absolute nonsense, and sadly, it’s the same in wrestling.”
Damo continued, noting the pros and cons of social media in 2026.
“Honestly, I think that social media is brilliant for so many reasons. because it did bring the world closer together. You were able to connect with people you never thought you’d be able to connect with. But sadly, it also amplified nonsense, and that is one of the main issues we have as a society in 2026, and my colleagues, we’re just like everybody else. We make similar mistakes, and we say… Sometimes we say stupid things online that we probably haven’t thought of enough and should probably do a bit of a better job of just not tweeting.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview on In The Weeds, Donovan Dijak spoke about his social media spat with Kenny Omega in the past. You can read more about that here.
