Big E calls Paul Heyman a charmer.
Now that Big E is on his own, he has been regularly in the conversation as a headlining star in the making.
When working on SmackDown, one benefit is that you can be featured on WWE Talking Smack which would mean, at the very least, showcasing your ability on the microphone in front of Paul Heyman.
In the case of Big E, Paul Heyman took the time to cut a promo directly to him saying that he has all of the ability in the world, but needs to let go of his grasp on his past relationship with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Heyman would go so far as to compare the launch that Big E can have to that of Roman Reigns following the disbanding of The Shield.
Speaking on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, Big E opened up about his current relationship with Paul Heyman, saying that there has never been a formal conversation between the two where Heyman agreed to help further Big E along, a relationship simply bloomed from their interactions on WWE Talking Smack.
“It's not even like there was a conversation [where Paul said] ‘you’re my guy.’ It's just kind of, your doing Talking Smack and Paul does his thing and I respond. What a charmer. He's a heck of a charmer. But, you know when I saw the feedback -- and I knew when we were doing it, like, this is good for me. This is a good conversation. Nothing bad is going to come from this being out there and [Paul] kind of stirring the pot and this idea... It's all been positive.”
Should Big E win the Royal Rumble on Sunday, he would have the option of challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. Should that be the case, there would be plenty more interactions on the microphone between Paul Heyman and Big E.
