Big E Scheduled To Face Baron Corbin On January 1 Episode Of SmackDown

After winning the Intercontinental Championship from Sami Zayn on the Christmas Day episode of SmackDown, it was announced that Big E would be back in action on New Year's Day.

Via Twitter, WWE advertised a match between Big E and Baron Corbin for their January 1st broadcast. The Lone Wolf and his "Knights" (Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake) were three of the lumberjacks during the aforementioned title match and attacked the soon-to-be-champion anytime he was outside of the ring. The two men were also opponents on the TLC kickoff show, which saw Big E, Daniel Bryan, Chad Gable and Otis defeated Zayn, Corbin, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.

It is unknown as to whether or not the title will be defended.

Seth Rollins, who disappeared from Friday Night SmackDown after Survivor Series 2020, is also set to return on the first show of 2021. Outside the ring, Rollins recently became a father for the first time as he and Becky Lynch welcomed their daughter Roux to the world.
