Big E Set To Defend WWE Championship At WWE Crown Jewel 2021

Big E is putting his WWE Championship on the line at Crown Jewel.

Last Monday night, after Big E successfully defended his title, Drew McIntyre came out and pointed at the New Day member, seemingly signaling his intention to challenge for the WWE Championship.

The following Friday, October 1, WWE kicked off its 2021 Draft. One of SmackDown's picks on the night was Drew McIntyre, taking him away from Raw for the first time since his call-up for NXT in 2018. Big E, on the other hand, was selected by Raw.

On the October 4 edition of WWE Raw, Big E and McIntyre came face to face but were interrupted by Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Dolph wanted a thank you from both men for his role in their successes. This led to a tag team match, which saw E and Drew pick up the win.

After the bell, Big E laid down a challenge to Drew, offering to face him at Crown Jewel on October 21, with the WWE Championship on the line. The match has yet to be made official by WWE.
