Big Kon: ‘No Wrestler Has Retired. That’s Just Their Big Comeback Run And They Can Make More Money’

Big Kon and Viktor don’t think wrestlers stay retired forever.

The Ascension’s Konnor and Viktor were the longest reigning NXT Tag Team Champions in history. Both wrestlers worked for WWE for almost a decade before getting released in 2019. They later reunited in the indies as well for some time.

Speaking on Rewind Recap Relive, Big Kon and Viktor were discussing The Fashion Files in WWE. During the conversation, Fandango’s retirement was brought up, and both stars reacted to the news. Viktor doesn’t think he’s actually retiring.

“I don’t believe that. I saw him post that. I hadn’t talked to Fandango in a while and I saw him post that and I was like bullshit. That was all I said to him.”

Kon jokingly commented that wrestlers never retire.

“It’s all bullshit, man. No wrestler has retired. That’s just their big comeback run and they can make more money.”

They were also asked about John Cena’s retirement and if he’ll stick to his words and never return again. Viktor doesn’t believe Cena will stay away from the ring forever.

“No. Come on. Like, as if John Cena’s never gonna wrestle again. Sure, not going to do it for a few years because he’s going to go act, but come on. Never again? No way. John’s only 48. He still looks great.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Viktor recalled that time The Ascension was almost fired by WWE. Fans can read more about it here.
