John Cena is back, and set for a huge match at the 2017 Royal Rumble.
Cena is tentatively scheduled to face WWE Champion AJ Styles at the event after laying down a big challenge to open Tuesday's Smackdown. Cena said that he's not leaving WWE, and wants a title shot at the Royal Rumble "because (he's) John Cena."
Styles would go on to defeat Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin in the main event of Smackdown Live to retain his WWE Championship. After the match, Cena hit the ring and shook AJ Styles' hand, implying a match between the two.
The last singles match between Styles and Cena was at WWE Summerslam, where AJ Styles emerged victorious. Styles also won a triple threat match at No Mercy that also involved Dean Ambrose.
The WWE Royal Rumble takes place from The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on January 29.
