Billie Starkz has commented on when she came up with her ring name as well as its origin.
At just 21 years old, Starkz has competed around the world in the name of becoming a professional wrestler as her full time career, but prior to finishing high school, she found herself juggling school along with her wrestling, something she began training for over seven years ago when she was just a teenager. Now, she has revealed how and when she came up with her ring name.
While speaking to SI: High School in a new interview, Billie Starkz revealed the origin of her ring name, as well as when she came up with it just a month before she had her debut match.
“About a month before my debut match. It was time to advertise and make a flyer. My family calls me Lilly, so Billie was close to Lilly. When my mom messes up cheering people don’t notice. Starks is my dad’s grandmother’s name. I switched it to a Z because I had gone by Beanz for years so it was a way to keep a little part of me.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Starkz spoke about two teachers who helped her on her journey to becoming a professional wrestler. You can read more about that here.
