Billy Gunn: Once MJF Gets Away From Indie Mentality, He's Going To Be A Superstar

MJF already claims to be the future face of AEW. And while that may be true, AEW producer Billy Gunn believes he needs to get rid of something before he can take that next step.

Gunn and MJF shared the ring in the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale with Gunn hitting the Fameasser on the "Salt of the Earth." Gunn was looking to eliminate MJF, but was stopped by MJF's associate Wardlow. Gunn was eliminated shortly after by Hangman Page.

Speaking to Bill Apter, Billy Gunn gave his thoughts on MJF and other members of the AEW roster.

"I think with time, he's gonna be an awesome heel. He's got all the tools. He can talk, once he gets away from a little bit of that Indie mentality, he's going to be a superstar," said Gunn on MJF.

When asked to give his thoughts about the rest of the roster, here's what Gunn had to say.

Chris Jericho - Amazing.

Cody Rhodes - Brilliant.

Dustin Rhodes - Still can go.

Pac - He's special. You can use him anyway you want and he'll still come out on top.

Kenny Omega - Very talented. Extremely talented. Extravagant, but talented. I'm not comparing him to Shawn Michaels, but he's that kind of guy you would love to work with.

Hangman Page - Gonna be good. He's still trying to find himself with the American crowd. Very good with the Japanese crowd.

Elsewhere during the interview, Gunn discussed his appearance in the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale, lamenting Orange Cassidy for his vicious assault. You can view his full comments by clicking here.
