Billy Gunn Says AEW Tried To Bring Sean Waltman In 'A Couple Of Times'

Billy Gunn thinks Sean Waltman, formerly X-Pac, would be an amazing asset to AEW.

Billy Gunn is enjoying a career resurgence right now alongside Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, The Acclaimed, in All Elite Wrestling. However, Billy will always be remembered for his time as part of D-Generation X during WWE's Attitude Era.

TKO (WWE and UFC) Reports Revenue Of $629.7 Million, Net Loss Of $249.5 Million For Q1 2024

During a recent interview with Sportskeeda's WrestleBinge, Gunn revealed that AEW has tried to bring in Sean "X-Pac" Waltman numerous times, but things never lined up for both sides.

Gunn says he is currently not interested in leaving The Acclaimed to potentially team with his former DX stablemate at this time. However, he does believe that the former WWE European Champion would be a great asset to the team at AEW.

"I don't know if that's the thing right now, because I think you'd be hard-pressed to get Tony to get me away from The Acclaimed right now," said Gunn. "No, I mean, it would be great. I think we've tried to get Sean in here a couple of times. Things just didn't work out. I think if the time's right, I think he would be a great asset because he still has huge popularity, everybody knows him, and he's such a good guy that he would not only help the younger talent as well as be a good representative for our company. He'd be amazing if we could get him in here."

Waltman briefly returned to the ring in 2022, last competing against Joey Janela at Spring Break 6 before needing to undergo surgery to repair a torn bicep.

He would later say that if he was to ever return to the ring, it would have to be for a major occurrence like a Royal Rumble Match. Read more here.
