Bishop Kaun is hungry.
Former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Bishop Kaun has not wrestled on AEW programming since the July 3rd episode of AEW Dynamite, but he has worked a few recent ROH on HonorClub tapings. throughout 2024, he has only wrestled sporadically, both in tag team action with Toa Liona and in trios competition with Liona and Brian Cage.
Speaking with Mark O'Brien for WrestleMobs (via Bodyslam.net), Bishop Kaun made it clear that he wanted to wrestle more.
“Last year, I wrestled around 85 matches, but this year, I’m only at about 30. I had a goal to reach 100 matches, and while it hasn’t happened yet, I’m hungrier than ever. I’m ready to be a workhorse, wrestling every week and showing the world what I’m truly capable of," Kaun said.
Kaun also stated that he viewed every match as an opportunity to make a statement, and he expressed his confidence that he would knock it out of the park when he gets the chance to do so. He emphasized that he wanted to maximize the moment.
“Every time I step into the ring, I see it as an opportunity to make a statement. I know that when I get the chance, I can knock it out of the park. It’s about staying ready and making the most of every moment when the spotlight is on me. This year, I want to make sure that the world sees Bishop Kaun as a name to be reckoned with," Kaun said.
Kaun stated that he and Liona want the tag team titles, both in AEW and ROH. Additionally, he set his sights on testing himself against top stars like FTR and the Young Bucks, as he noted that these bouts could define his career.
"There are so many incredible talents in AEW and ROH, and I want to test myself against the best. Facing top guys like FTR, the Young Bucks, or even veterans like Chris Jericho would be incredible. These are the kinds of matches that can define a career, and I’m ready for those challenges," Kaun said.
