Blake Christian Says His 2022 Goal Is To Compete In NJPW Best Of The Super Juniors

Blake Christian is excited to return to New Japan.

Christian (formerly Trey Baxter in WWE) is a free agent following his WWE release and has already traveled around the country, competing for GCW, DPW, Beyond Wrestling, and more.

Having made stops in IMPACT Wrestling, WWE, and NJPW STRONG, Christian says his heart will always be with NJPW.

"I enjoyed all three of those and all had unique and different experiences," Christian said when asked by MuscleManMalcolm about which company he prefers between WWE, IMPACT, and NJPW. "My heart is with New Japan. There is just something about it. From the fans, the guys in the back, the style. It's something that has my heart."

Asked about his future as a free agent, Christian replied, "I'm really on the radar for anything. Whatever comes my way. I'm not looking to settle down right away, I just got out of that. I definitely want to do everything I can do."

Christian has a big bout on his schedule as he'll challenge Jonathan Gresham for the Original ROH World Title at The WRLD on GCW.

While a bout with Gresham is in his immediate future, Christian has a big goal in mind for the end of the year.

"I always say, 'I can't control the things that I can't control,' so I try not to focus on those. If I'm making a goal list, my number one top priority is Best of Super Juniors. That's been my dream since before I started wrestling. I did the Super J Cup and now that I'm a free agent, I have more to my name, I want to really get in there and prove myself with some of the best," said Christian when asked about his 2022 goals.

Christian has competed for NJPW STRONG, but hasn't made it overseas to compete for New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Fightful will have coverage of The WLRD on GCW on January 23.
