Blake Monroe Addresses Finish To NXT Women’s North American Title Match: “Not The First Time I’ve Been Screwed”

There was a title change to start the December 16th edition of WWE NXT on The CW. Blake Monroe’s reign as Women’s North American Champion came to an end.

She was defending the belt against Thea Hail, and the conclusion of the bout saw Hail pinning Monroe, but Monroe did not get her shoulder up until after the referee counted three. Initially, Monroe’s music played after the match, but then Hail’s music came on, and she was presented with the Women’s North American Title.

Monroe tweeted the following after the loss:

Fightful Select reported that Hail was not supposed to win the Women’s North American Championship.

NXT is set to tape the 12/23 and 12/30 episodes of their weekly show. They’ll be back live for New Year’s Evil on January 6th.
