Blake Monroe on Botched Finish vs. Thea Hail: I Feel Like The Ref Was Clearly in a Rush to Get Home

One of the moments that will live with Blake Monroe for quite some time is the way she lost the NXT North American Championship to Thea Hail.

In a recent interview with Sam Roberts, Monroe discussed that entire situation and how she’s feeling a few months removed from the incident.

“I think the theme of my career is people will talk about me and who are you if you’re not talked about?” Monroe asked. “It was definitely shocking and I feel like the ref was clearly in a rush to get home. I mean, he counted that quick. But no, it was definitely very exciting and um I’m going to get my revenge next week in under three minutes.”

She added, “You take me back to Christmas because I actually got injured, too. I damaged all the cartilage in my ribs. I spent my Christmas break bandaged up, having to do rehab, thinking of all the things I would do to Thea Hail, and then never actually got to wrestle her.”

Blake Monroe and Hail are set to wrestle in the women’s Speed Championship tournament on the 2/24 edition of NXT.
