Bobby Lashley Explains Why He Has Heat With Drew McIntyre Heading Into WrestleMania 37

Bobby Lashley has a score to settle with Drew McIntyre.

On March 1, Lashley defeated The Miz to capture the WWE Championship. This came just one week after the Chief Hurt Officer helped Miz cash in his Money in the Bank contract. On night one of WrestleMania 37, Lashley will defend his title against McIntyre.

Appearing on WWE's The Bump ahead of the event, Bobby Lashley was asked about his match with Drew at Backlash 2020, which was the last time he was pinned or submitted, and whether or not he feels like a successful title defence at WrestleMania is the best way to exact revenge. He said the following:

"Absolutely, because you know what, if you watch that match back, I had that match won last year also. There were some distractions that caused him to go over and then what kind of upsets me the most and why I have so much heat with Drew, is that I hadn't had an opportunity to go after that title for an entire year. Drew's been running and he's been giving everyone else opportunities. Goldberg came back. All these other guys had opportunities, but the one man that was going to beat him, he stayed away from. Drew always talks about being the toughest on the roster and he needs to toughen the roster up. Why hadn't he given me a chance until now? I had to go and take my chance from him. I had to go and take the title from him and then have him chase it. Why is that? That's what I don't understand. If you want to toughen up the locker room, put the toughest guy on top. I'm the toughest guy on top."

Lashley and McIntyre are set to open the show on Night One of WrestleMania 37. Drew McIntyre recently explained why he would be happy to be in the first match or the last match on the card. His comments can be seen here.'
