Bobby Lashley On Rusev-Lana Storyline: Rusev Needed To Get Revenge And It Didn't Happen

The feud between Bobby Lashley and Rusev dominated the fall on WWE Raw. The angle saw Lana reveal Lashley as her new lover and eventual husband, leaving Rusev angry at his former wife, but also excited by his newfound freedom.

During Lana and Lashley's wedding, Liv Morgan entered the feud as a previous lover of Lana's. The introduction of Liv Morgan led to a quick conclusion of the feud with their history never really explained and Rusev just disappearing from television amid reported contract negotiations.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Lashley commented on the storyline not having a real conclusion.

"I don't think it had a proper conclusion. I think there was so much we could do. We had a full head of steam, people wanted Rusev to rip my arms off and beat me with them. I really don't know what happened to tell you the truth. I think we were at the point where the revenge needed to happen and it didn't. I don't know where we could have went or where we were going to go with it. I just wish that I could have had the match that I wanted to have with Rusev. I've seen him in some great matches and I think I could have had one with him," he said.

Rusev was released by WWE on April 15 as part of the company-wide cutbacks. Meanwhile, Morgan has been floating in the women's division while Lashley and Lana remain together, though they are having issues as MVP has taken over as the manager for Lashley, guiding him to a WWE Title shot at WWE Backlash
