Bobby Roode talks about who he'd like to see in the 2019 Royal Rumble match.
The professional wrestling scene is booming with various promotions bringing more eyes to their product and new companies such as All Elite Wrestling launching and we are only a few weeks into 2019 with a year full of action left to go. One of the major shows set for this month is the Royal Rumble pay-per-view which will take place on January 27th at 'Chase Field' in Phoenix, Arizona. Many wrestling fans are expecting some surprises appearances in the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches much like how last year saw the return of former two-time World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio.
One-half of the current RAW Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode recently chatted with 'Planeta Wrestling' and was asked who's a surprise entrant that he'd like to see in the forthcoming Royal Rumble match and Bobby Roode name-dropped his fellow Canadian and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega.
“Oh boy, great question. I don’t know. It seems like -- right now it seems like the stars in the business [but] the people I’m familiar with are in the WWE and possibly [are already] in the match but, if you’re looking for an outside guy, I don’t know. I mean there’s a guy named Kenny Omega that’s out there that is a fellow Canadian, and a guy that I think has a lot of talent and would be a huge addition I think to this company and who knows, we’ll see what happens but that’s a tough question to ask, tough question to answer.” Bobby shared.
Kenny Omega's name has been in many of headlines coming out of Wrestle Kingdom 13 as he did an interview with Tokyo Sports during-which he stated that he's leaving Japan and many are wondering where Kenny will land as no one except Omega knows what his next move will be once his contract expires at the end of the month.
