Booker T: I'm Glad To See Jeff Hardy Back In AEW, The Hardys Should Always Be Together

Booker T discusses Jeff Hardy's return.

Jeff Hardy had been absent from AEW since he was arrested for DUI in June 2022. The incident marked his third DUI arrest in the past 10 years. He was subsequently suspended by the company, and he would only be permitted to return once he completed treatment and maintained his sobriety. Hardy returned to AEW on the April 12,2023 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he reunited with his brother, Matt Hardy.

Speaking with co-host Brad Gilmore on The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on Jeff Hardy's return and made it clear that he's glad to see him back. The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the criticism of Jeff and noted that he's the same person who has put his body on the line for the fans.

“Jeff Hardy made his return. Big splash, Jeff Hardy being on hiatus for a while, handling his business more so than anything. I’m glad to see Jeff Hardy back. Jeff’s a good dude. I remember everybody wanted to crap on Jeff Hardy when he was going through his rough time there for a second, and I said, man, come on, guys. This is the same guy that has bled, put his body on the line each and every night for those fans. I said don’t do him like that. So for me, I’m just glad to see Jeff Hardy back and doing well," Booker T said.

Booker T also emphasized that he was happy to see The Hardys reunited as a team. He shared his belief that they should always be together, as they made their careers off of each other, given their legendary tag team runs.

“I’m just glad to see Jeff back, for the Hardys to be reunited together as a tag team. Those guys should always be together. They are brothers to the bone, and their careers have been made on each other’s backs, all that time on the road, all those years, Team Extreme, those ladder matches with the Dudleys and so many more. I’m just glad to see those guys back, reunited and still doing what they do best," Booker T said.

Gilmore brought up AEW All In at Wembley Stadium and the possibility of Jeff Hardy being put in a main evebt spot, potentially against AEW World Champion MJF, to sell tickets for the show. Booker T responded by stating that he wants The Hardys to be used as a tag team, and he pointed to a possible rematch with The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) as a major bout.

“I’m not opposed to that or anything like that, but I see Jeff Hardy in a tag team with his brother. That’s the perfect scenario, I don’t know, against the Young Bucks. I wouldn’t want to take those guys and break them up or anything like that. Those two as a tag team against the Young Bucks, that’s a marquee, that’s a dream match. We definitely could get something out of that," he said.
