Booker T Told Fans Chanting 'CM Punk' During Survivor Series Kickoff, 'Be Quiet, CM Punk Isn't Here'

Booker T didn't know CM Punk would be at WWE Survivor Series.

CM Punk made his surprising return to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago, coming out after the men's WarGames matches. The deal with Punk came together quietly and very few people knew Punk would be returning leading up to WWE Survivor Series.

"CM Punk" chant were prevalent during WWE Survivor Series, but they were quickly drowned out by "boos" from the crowned.

Booker T was at WWE Survivor Series working the Kick-Off show, and he was asked about the atmosphere backstage at the event.

"Of course, people were talking about, 'do we think it's going to happen? Is he here?' For me, I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it. If he showed up, he showed up. If he didn't, he didn't. The contingency outside the Allstate Arena, it was 'CM Punk, CM Punk,' they were all about it. At one point, off the air, the fans were chanting 'CM Punk,' so loud, I turned around and said, 'Guys, quiet down. Quiet down.' Everyone got silent. I told them, 'CM Punk is not here tonight.' [laughs]. I started laughing like crazy. I didn't know he was going to show up," he said on his Hall of Fame podcast.

Booker said he left the show before Punk showed up so he could watch the rest of the event from his hotel.
