Brandi Rhodes: What I Feared With AEW, I Was Seeing With My Own Eyes

Brandi Rhodes comments on AEW departure.

In February 2022, Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes announced they would be leaving AEW. The move shocked wrestling fans given that Cody was an Executive Vice President and one of the company's founding members. Brandi was the Chief Brand Officer of the promotion.

Speaking to Chris Vannini of The Athletic, Brandi commented on leave AEW.

“What I feared with that company, I was seeing before my eyes,” Brandi said without delving into specifics. “When you start to see things drift from the original vision and … I’ve seen this happen before, then you start to (think) this may not be what we thought it was.”

Cody has said in the past that he left AEW due to a "personal issue" and that Brandi was treated unfairly after their departure.

Brandi has remained out of the wrestling spotlight since departing AEW, but she will be in attendance for WrestleMania 40.

Cody will headline both nights of WrestleMania 40, teaming with Seth Rollins on night one to face Roman Reigns & The Rock, and then challenging Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at night two.
