Many legends of the wrestling industry often criticize the current reliance on high-flying maneuvers in professional wrestling today. At times, this is just a factor of evolution, different generations clashing over the most effective way to carry out a task. However, that doesn't mean that every star of this generation dismisses the advice of the older generation nor does it mean that every older star is not on board with how the business has evolved in recent years.
On the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite, Best friends will team with the Varsity Blonds, Brandon Cutler, and Top Flight against the Inner Circle in seven-on-seven action.
On Twitter, Brandon Cutler hyped this match by tweeting out a statement that is often a common criticism of modern multi-man matches.
Jim Ross, a broadcaster for AEW, recently stated that he's not a fan of these spots on his Grillin' JR podcast.
"All you guys go outside, you cluster up like coils, you stand there in a huddle, friends and foes together, side-by-side, so you can catch some leaping idiot going over the top who never wins with this move. They are looking for the 'holy shit' chant. They love to hear, ?this is awesome?. It?s a spot, folks. It?s a trapeze act. I don?t buy into that."
One way or another, there will be a 14-man tag team match on the next episode of Dynamite and there will likely be a few tope suicidas to go around.
