Braun Strowman Looks Back At WWE Creative Process: “Sometimes The Script Sucked… No Offense, I Hated It, But I Had To Make The Best Of It”

Scherr looks back at the creative process at WWE.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that former WWE talent Adam Scherr a.k.a. Braun Strowman is co-launching a production company called Meat Castle Media.

The outlet released their interview with Scherr, and as the chat moved along, Scherr looked back on the creative process at WWE. He said that with the new media company, they allow him to be himself, as with WWE, he was playing a character, and sometimes the scripts were not good.

“For me, the big eye-opening thing was not having my hands tied. They’ve allowed me to be me, whereas my hands were tied creatively for the last 12 years (in WWE), and while that’s not a bad thing — I was very blessed with what I got to do — but at the end of the day, I was playing a character on a show, and sometimes the script sucked. I mean, no offense, I hated it, but I had to go in there and make the best of it because that was my job. Well, now with this opportunity… my creative input is welcomed, it’s not dismissed.”

Scherr has his own show on USA Network titled ‘Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman’ that has been picked up for a second season. WWE produces the show. Friday Night SmackDown airs on USA Network.

Scherr was released from WWE in May 2025.
