Brian Cage Thinks AEW Revolution 2021 Cinematic Match Is The Best Cinematic Match Ever
Brian Cage teamed with Ricky Starks (Ricky Saints in WWE) to take on Darby Allin & Sting at AEW Revolution 2021 in Sting’s first match since 2015. The bout was a cinematic match as it took place during the COVID 19 pandemic.
A handful of cinematic matches were held during and after COVID, but Cage believes the Revolution bout is the best one of all.
“The cinematic match we had, I thought it was phenomenal. In my opinion, I’m going to be biased, I thought it was the best cinematic match ever, mainly because it was actually cinematic. We had this whole big intro. It was their entrance and our entrance. How it was shot, these different scenes, the 360 camera. It looked like an actual movie and not just a match filmed by a different camera,” Cage said while speaking to Rob Van Dam on 1 of a Kind.
When Stadium Stampede, the Boneyard match between AJ Styles and The Undertaker, and The Hardy Compound matches were referenced, Cage replied, “Those just seemed like matches filmed elsewhere, where our match is filmed like it’s a movie. There is like a Matrix scene where it 360s around. It’s all post-edit. It has a soundtrack and it felt like a movie.”
Sting and Darby were victorious in the match.
Elsewhere during the interview, Cage commented on his in-ring return after a year away. You can find his comments here.
