Brian Cage Writing Biography About His Life
Brian Cage started writing about his childhood.
20-year wrestler and current AEW/ROH talent Brian Cage sat down with Muscle and Fitness for an extensive interview. Cage revealed that he began writing a biography about his life.
“I was actually a terrible kid too. I mean, we can even dive into some of that. Nothing to do with athletics but oh my gosh, I was a nightmare kid. I actually started writing a little bit of a biography about myself while I was injured this past year, and I’m writing all these different stories and things and how I remember ‘em, and I’m laughing and then I think it’s kind of funny telling certain stories, and then the more I keep on writing it all and then I’m going back and I’m reading it, I’ll go, ‘This might just come across like I’m a total little asshole.'” Cage was then asked to share what he did that made him a bad kid, and he replied, “The normal stuff… Lying… not listening to your mom kind of situation. I think I got like 14 pink slips in one month in school. I got in a lot of school fights and that’s kind of the normal stuff and then some of the extracurricular activities you do so, I was a big pyromaniac. I was very young. I’d light everything on fire… There’s this stuffing cushion in this chair we’re lighting on fire. Me and my friends, Javon and Willie, we’re all there, and melting it and I’m the ring leader. They’re just kind of watching me, and Javon doesn’t have a shirt on and I go, ‘Hey, Javon, catch,’ and I throw the fire flameball stuffing at him. It sticks to his chest and starts burning him obviously… I jump on him and cover his mouth because I’m like, we’re gonna get in trouble. I’m like, ‘Willie! Grab his legs!’ We drag him over to the hose and try to hose him off and he’s screaming and crying. I’m like, ‘Oh sh*t! We’re gonna get in trouble.’ So I was like, ‘Run Willie! Run!’ Well, I was like, I’m gonna get grounded and his older brother Julian’s gonna beat my ass. Like, ah, we gotta get out of here…” Cage continued with another story, “I said we were broke, so we lived (in) this mobile home, like trailer park situation, and I found this piece of metal, like metal straw thing and everybody had the same backdoor… I was able to unlock it. I’m like, ‘Oh, so I can unlock everyone’s backdoor?’ So I used to always walk around this fence line just because I would. So I’m walking along the fence line and I would jump into people’s backyards, and I’d go to their backdoor and they’re not home, I would unlock it and I would go in their house and I would eat their popsicles, whatever, frozen dessert. I’d take change off the counter, I’d play with their kids’ toys or look for one that I wanted. All the while I’m thinking, it’s not that big of a deal.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Cage revealed that he’s been cleared to return to in-ring action. He opened up about the process of getting cleared and his excitement to return. To read more, click here.
