Brie Bella Says She Kept Being Told ‘No’ In Previous WWE Return Attempts, Credits Nick Khan For Bringing Her Back
WWE President Nick Khan brought back both Nikki and Brie.
The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella & Brie Bella) are back in the fold of WWE as a tag team following Brie’s return to in-ring competition in the 2026 women’s Royal Rumble.
The Hall of Famers are making the media rounds, and one of their stops was on Notsam Wrestling Live!. Brie shared the details of her comeback and stated that she’s wanted to come back for a while, but kept hearing no. In late 2025, WWE President Nick Khan reached out to bring her back. Nikki added that Khan brought her back as well.
Brie: “I’ve been wanting to come back. I would joke about it a lot but yeah, I kept hearing no, and so when it came Thanksgiving time, I was like, ‘Alright, I’m not going back,’ and so, I kind of just started to look at 2026 differently. I had a couple other opportunities that were put on the table so I started to engage in those and then Nick Khan all of a sudden called me and I wasn’t expecting it and just really wanted me back. I was very shocked, and I was like, ‘Alright….’ And I’m grateful to Nick for bringing me back because I definitely thought the door was closed, and I’m happy that it re-opened.”
Nikki: “I remember when I got my call from Nick. It’s so unexpected and then you’re like, woah, that’s life-changing.”
Brie and Nikki have made it clear that they are coming after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The current holders of the titles are Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.
