The Briscoes Weighed Options Before Re-Signing With ROH, Want To Face Usos Or Revival

The Briscoes are sticking around in ROH, but the most decorated tag team in company history had their options open.

On Jan. 26, Mark & Jay Briscoe announced they were re-signing with ROH with the goal of being 12-time ROH Tag Team Champions. Speaking to Sports Illustrated the brothers discussed their decision to remain in ROH.

“We’ve spent 18 years helping to build this house and we have no desire to move out,” said Jay Briscoe. “This is home for us.ROH has always given us the liberty to perform how we want to. The competition that happens in the ring has always been our main focus and our roster is more diverse than ever. We pride ourselves on being able to match up with any style.”

Mark added, “Personally, I thought about the other options,” said Mark Briscoe. “However, with the recent signings and moves that have been made in ROH, I feel that we are in the best position moving forward—and that this is the place to be in wrestling. When Ring of Honor first formed in 2002, we were there from the beginning. It was something special from the very first show. ROH influenced and changed the game perhaps more than any other promotion in wrestling history. In the ring, bell to bell. That’s what we’re about—in the ring, bell to bell.”

While The Briscoes are staying in ROH, that doesn't mean they don't have opponents in mind who work elsewhere. The brothers mentioned that they would like to face The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) or The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) should the opportunity ever present itself. The Revival and Usos currently work for WWE.

The Briscoes are booked for ROH Free Enterprise on Feb. 9 against Bandido & Flamita.
