Now, she's telling the story of when that almost happened for her during a tryout with the sports entertainment juggernaut, revealing that during a tryout she, Lacey Evans, and Bianca Belair were all pulled aside and given extra testing with the green light appearing near.

Speaking on the latest Talk is Jericho which was recorded during the Jericho Cruise, Baker reflected on her tryout with WWE, which she says nearly pulled her from dental school.

"I had a tryout, I was fresh out of training," she began. "They gave me a tryout solely based on my looks, ‘oh, this is a cute girl.’ I got put in a group after the course where the training was all done, bumps and rolls, we can’t even walk by the end of the tryout. It was me, Lacey Evans, and Bianca [Belair] were the females, in Orlando. It was all these extra physic-like [tests], they were like testing our range of motion. We were like, ‘Holy shit, we are getting signed. This is awesome So we are celebrating, and I still talk to those girls all the time.”

Continuing on, Baker explained that Canyon Ceman elected to pull her and not sign her at that time because she had just started attending dental school and Canyon says that he had a hard time taking her away from that, as a father himself.

“Canyon, at the time, he was like the gatekeeper for independent wrestlers to get into NXT and he pulled me aside at the end of the tryout. He's like, ‘You just started dental school, as a father I have a hard time pulling you from a professional degree.’ My heart dropped, but I owe him the world because I would have left dental school in a heartbeat to go to WWE because that's what I was young, dumb. I was like, ‘I don't need a degree,’ I'm going to be NXT Champion,’ like that would have gotten me far, right?” she quipped.

Britt Baker, who is now proudly boasting that she is a dentist, said that there was a time in her life when she felt like dental school was ruining her life because of the wrestling opportunities that it was costing her. Ultimately, everything worked out in the end.

“He stayed in touch with me like every three months after that. ‘Let me know when you graduate dental school. Send me your matches,’ and they always kept up with me and at the time, I thought dental school was ruining my life because I didn't get to go do these like month-long tours in Japan. I got to go for two weeks. I didn't even get to go to the UK until after I graduated. But now, you guys are all chanting three letters because I'm a dentist, so I'm grateful for whatever planets aligned that I got to finish dental school and be a wrestler. I'm very thankful,” Baker concluded.
