Britt Baker Credits Brandi Rhodes For Putting The Spotlight On Other Females And Not Herself

Britt Baker can't wait to get started with All Elite Wrestling.

At the AEW Rally in January, Brandi Rhodes announced Britt Baker as the first official female signing of All Elite Wrestling. Baker made a name for herself last September at All In, competing in a fatal four-way match  against Chelsea Green, Madison Rayne, and Tessa Blanchard. At AEW Double or Nothing, Baker will compete against Nyla Rose and Kylie Rae in a triple threat bout. Brandi, who serves at Chief Branding Officer of AEW along with being part of the active roster, is unlikely to wrestle at AEW's first event on May 25.

Speaking to Kristen Ashly of Diva Dirt, Baker praised Brandi's willingness to put others before herself.

"Brandi, she truly from the bottom of her heart, values us women. She's looking out for us in the best way. She wants the best for us," said Baker. "She has a lot of girl power in her. We're lucky to have Brandi running the show for the women. It says a lot of her as a person to not include herself in the women's match at Double or Nothing. There are promoters for companies all over the world that always make sure they have a spotlight in their major wrestling shows. It says a lot about Brandi that she's sitting it out and wants to showcase the women."

Aside from Brandi's selflessness, one thing that drew Baker to AEW was her ability to continue with her dentistry career while competing for the promotion.

"To be a part of an organization from the ground up is very special to anybody. I see nothing but huge success for this company. I absolutely love Brandi, I love Cody (Rhodes), the Young Bucks, Kenny (Omega), I think they are geniuses. They're brilliant. Their minds for wrestling can't be paralleled with anything or anybody," said Baker. "To get to work with these people, how lucky can you be? Not to mention, being able to still practice dentistry in some capacity on the side was huge for me. It is a passion of mine and I went to school for eight years for it. It would be disheartening to kind of throw that away to focus only on wrestling. I always dreaded the day where I was gonna have to choose 'do I want to wrestle full-time for a major TV company or do I want to be a dentist forever?' I couldn't think of a harder decision. Now that I get to do both, I'm so lucky and blessed."

The announcement of Baker's match at Double or Nothing was made on the third episode of Road to Double or Nothing. While many fans will want the match to be for the AEW Women's Title, Brandi recently stated that she does not expect a Women's Title match to be part of the event.
