Britt Baker Reveals The Origin Of Lockjaw

Being a dentist, Britt Baker trying to ruin someone's mouth and teeth in a wrestling match works perfectly for her character. Mess up your opponent's mouth, force them to come to you for dental work. A double payday for Dr. Britt Baker DMD.

Baker's finisher -- Lockjaw -- is a Rings of Saturn/Mandible Claw combo that she's used on many foes in AEW. And speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Baker discussed the origin of the move.

Triple H To Rhea Ripley: Thank You For A Reign That The Entire WWE Universe Can Be Proud Of

"It was in the [Casino Battle Royale] where I had the idea of eliminating, I think Shazza [McKenzie], with the Mandible Claw over the top. I remember asking Tony [Khan] and he's like, 'Why wouldn't you use the Mandible Claw? You're a dentist. That's great.' Then I had the idea of using the modified Rings of Saturn while grabbing on. It was Excalibur who came up with the name. I started doing it and everyone's first instinct are the buzzword dental words like root canal. That has nothing to do with a root canal. Or Novocaine. It doesn't apply. Lockjaw is unrelated to [dentistry], but at least people can relate to it. Plus, it has a zing to it when commentary says it," she said.

Though Baker is the most famous dentist in wrestling today, she's not the only one in history. Before Baker could run, Isaac Yankem DDS had to walk. You can find Baker's comments on the man who is not her father by clicking here.
