Britt Baker Says There Was Talk Of Her Turning On Rebel

Whether you know her as Reba or Rebel, there's no denying the chemistry between Britt Baker and her top assistant.

When Baker was sidelined with an injury in May 2020, she never lost momentum thanks to weekly vignettes and segments. During that time, Baker was paired with Rebel/Reba and the two found instant chemistry that continues to this day.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Baker discussed her pairing with Rebel and talks of a potential turn, which didn't go through.

"I am so happy that the rest of the world is seeing her talent. When we started “The Rules of Being a Role Model,” she was the makeup artist. She’s so passionate about wrestling, she was written into the first scene, the one in my dental office, as Reba. Once Tony saw that, he thought our interaction was great. We all thought it made sense to keep us together. At one point, there was talk of me turning on her. But I can’t. She’s that important to Dr. Britt Baker. We are having so much fun together. We always say, 'Just let us flow; don’t overcomplicate things,' and that’s when you get the greatest product quality from us. Just let us flow, and we’re going to hit it out of the park," she said.

Rebel will be in Baker's corner for Wednesday's Dynamite when the Doctor battles Thunder Rosa in a Lights Out match. The bout will mark the first time ever women will headline AEW Dynamite.

Fightful recently spoke to Thunder Rosa about the match and more in an exclusive interview. You can watch the interview by clicking here.
