John Pollock of POST Wrestling previously reported that Lesnar was originally slated to work with Dominik Mysterio at WWE Elimination Chamber.

Lesnar was reportedly scheduled to return to television at WWE Royal Rumble. Lesnar was reportedly pulled from WWE SuperCard as well.

On January 25, a lawsuit was filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, WWE and former executive John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sex trafficking, emotional abuse, and sexual assault.

Lesnar was never named in the lawsuit, but there is a reference to “a world-famous athlete and former UFC Heavyweight Champion with whom WWE was actively trying to sign to a new contract." The lawsuit alleges that Vince McMahon used Ms. Grant in a sexual manner to keep the athlete under contract with WWE.

McMahon is now under federal investigation.
