- NXT announced that the Dusty Cup is coming back. The men's tournament is set to begin in two weeks, while the women's tournament will commence in February.
- AJ Styles came to New Year's Evil ready to fight Grayson Waller, but the young Superstar turned the offer down, opting to headline next week's episode of NXT instead. He then tried to cheap-shot AJ, but the Phenomenal One saw it coming and countered, sending Waller scurrying to the back.

- In the main event, Bron Breakker defeated Tommaso Ciampa via submission to become the new NXT Champion. After the show went off the air, Tommaso went to the crowd and shook Rick Steiner's hand. Steiner then went into the ring and celebrated with his son.
