Bruce Prichard Details Lilian Garcia's Start With WWE

Lilian Garcia was a featured voice in WWE for many years. The Chasing Glory podcast host has ring announced for main events of WrestleMania, and even had the honor of singing the national anthem on the first live SmackDown following 9/11. However, she wasn?t always the most sought after voice to all of those within WWE.

On the latest episode of his Something to Wrestle podcast, Bruce Pritchard details how Lilian got her start with the promotion and why he wasn?t the biggest fan of her announcing in the beginning.

"Well, Lilian was a part of the Univision talent search. So we had interviewed Lilian and she had tried out to be an interviewer with us on Univision. She obviously was bilingual and could sing and do a lot of different things," proclaimed the former Brother Love. Lilian was trying out for WWF Super Astros, a television show that was broadcast only by the Univision TV channel to try and garner more of a Latin audience for WWE.

"Vince looked at that and thought, hey, we could use her for television for the main roster, and hopefully, you know, maybe do an album with her or something down the line."

Bruce goes on to say that he felt Lilian was very rough in the beginning, but eventually honed her craft, "I was never a big fan of Lilian's announcing in the beginning. She was very green and made a lot of mistakes. But over the years, I think she solidified her spot where, by God, she's good to go."

These days, you can hear Lillian Garcia on her podcast, Chasing Glory, where she interviews many WWE superstars such as Adam Cole.
