Bruce Prichard Says Eddie Guerrero vs. Shawn Michaels At WrestleMania Was Kicked Around By WWE

Eddie Guerrero could have potentially faced Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 22.

On a recent episode of “Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard,” Prichard was asked about the idea of Guerrero possibly having a dream match against Michaels at WrestleMania, a match that has never happened in either man’s careers. Prichard confirmed that the match was kicked around, but nothing was confirmed as Guerrero died in November 2005 nearly six months before WrestleMania 22.

“It was kicked around as a possibility because they had never worked together and that was in, at least in my head, a dream match. That was one of those that I would have loved to have seen,” Prichard said.

By 2005, several weeks before Guerrero’s unfortunate death, he was in a feud with Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship. According to Prichard, there was talk of Guerrero winning a world title once more, but nothing was set in stone at that point.

“There was talk of Eddie possibly capturing the championship between then and WrestleMania. It was talk at that point. There was no decision set in stone in what we were looking at Eddie winning on a certain date or certain event, but there was definitely talk of it,” Prichard said.
