- The AEW Continental Classic Tournament continued on December 9. Eddie Kingston was able to pick up his first victory in the tournament, defeating his old rival Claudio Castagnoli.
In the main event, Adrade El Idolo unleashed a fiery rage on Bryan Danielson, targeting the injured eye. After the match, Andrade tried to check on Danielson as did the other members of the Blackpool Combat Club, who came out to check on their fallen brother.

- Fightful Select previously reported that the injury to Danielson that occurred during this match was part of the storyline again.
There was more tension between CJ Perry and Miro on December 9 with Miro making it clear that he wants to be the only breadwinner in his house and that once the Continental Classic Tournament is over, he has his sights set on Andrade.
Miro guarantees he won’t attack his Hot & Flexible Wife’s client, Andrade El Idolo, until the #AEWContinentalClassic has concluded.

- Despite his best efforts, Ethan Page ultimately lost to Kenny Omega on December 9. After the match, Onega was attacked by Big Bill. Omega and Chris Jericho still have the right to challenge Big Bill and Ricky Starks for the Tag Team Championship whenever they so choose.

- Willow Nightingale defeated Mercedes Martinez. After the match, Diamante and Mercedes attacked Willow with weapons but she was saved by Kris Statlander.
