Bryan Danielson Was Worried The Rock Would Make 'Yes' Chants His Thing The Night After WM 28

At WWE WrestleMania XXVIII, Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan in WWE) lost the WWE World Heavyweight Title to Sheamus in 18 seconds. The loss only enhanced Bryan's value with the fans as the "Yes Movement" started to grow.

The following night on Raw in Miami, the crowd chanted "Yes!" throughout the night, including when The Rock was cutting a promo.

Speaking to Jimmy Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Danielson reflected on the Raw after WrestleMania XXVII and how he was worried The Rock would turn the chants into his thing.

"It was a pretty cool moment," he said. "It was interesting because I wasn't on Raw that night, I was just on the dark match. There was a funny moment where The Rock was out there doing a promo and everybody starts chanting 'Yes!' for Daniel Bryan and I said, 'Oh no,' because the Rock is so quick-witted. I said, 'He's for sure going to turn this around and it'll become his thing. I'm not gonna have it.' He came back and said, 'Hey man, you're super over out there.' 'Oh, yeah, it was really nice.' He could've easily turned it around into a Rock thing and he didn't, that was very kind of him."

Bryan competed in the dark match on the night, teaming with Kane and Cody Rhodes in a loss to Randy Orton, Sheamus & The Big Show.

Bryan won't be using the "Yes!" chants in AEW as he wants to respect WWE's intellectual property. You can learn more by clicking here.
