Bryan Danielson Reacts To Video Of Him Doing ‘Yes!’ Chant In 2001

Danielson previously said the chant was inspired by an entrance from former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez.
Bryan Danielson is on the record stating that his ‘Yes!’ chant was inspired by former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez’s entrance at UFC 95 in February 2009.
A video surfaced on social media of Danielson competing at an independent show in October 2001, and he did the ‘Yes!’ chant in the video. Danielson responded to the clip with the following:

Diego Sanchez did not make his MMA debut until 2002.
In July, Danielson shared that WWE contacted him during AEW All In Texas weekend about the ‘Yes!’ chant. He questioned the restrictions around him doing it. In 2024, Danielson stated that he was contacted by WWE for filing for the ‘Yes!’ chant trademark. The company told him he was infringing.
Danielson did the chant during his involvement in the main event of All In Texas. He did it again at AEW Dynamite in Scotland.
