- Bryan Danielson, while speaking to Sports Illustrated, spoke about the hazards of pile drivers when discussing Tony Khan taking a TK Driver.
“When they got him up for the spike tombstone piledriver, I was just hoping Tony was OK,” said Danielson. “I was hoping he would protect his head.”
Danielson also spoke about the Blackpool Combat Club spending more time preparing for Piledrivers.
“More and more people are using piledrivers, and there’s more and more head drops, so we train specifically in the BCC for how to escape those unscathed,” said Danielson. “Tony doesn’t have any of that training. He’s not a wrestler. My first concern was Tony’s health.”

“I’m worried about Bryan Danielson’s safety–and Bryan Danielson should be worried about Bryan Danielson’s safety, too,” said Matt Jackson. “He’s one bad bump away from the end. But still, we know we’re dealing with a very dangerous man. And Darby Allin is one resilient kid. He just broke his foot a second ago, and then got Final Destination’d by a bus in New York, yet he’s still somehow walking. And FTR are tough as heck, not afraid to get a little blood in between their fingernails as proven in our recent ladder match.
“We know between the four of them, this isn’t going to be easy. But it’s also going to be a lot of fun.”
