Bryan Danielson Told WWE That Royal Rumble 2015 Spot Was A Bad Idea, Praises Roman Reigns

Many fans hoped Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan in WWE) ended up the winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble after winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 30 in 2014 but having to relinquish the title due to injury.

Instead, Bryan entered tenth and lasted ten minutes before he was eliminated. Roman Reigns, with help from The Rock, ended up winning the Rumble as the crowd booed.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on The Sessions at Starrcast V, Bryan tried to tell WWE that his quick elimination was a bad idea.

"I knew, and especially because I had just comeback from neck surgery. When they told me what I was doing in the Rumble in 2015 and that I was only going to be in there for four or five minutes, I told them, 'I think this is a bad idea. This isn't necessarily great for Roman.' They kind of ignored that. Then it wasn't. Stuff happened. That was that. All of that to say, Roman has done such a great job and now he's the biggest star in wrestling. He's performed at such a high level for a long time and he's done such a great job," he said.

Reigns would go on to headline WrestleMania 31 against Brock Lesnar while Bryan opened the show in an Intercontinental Championship ladder match.

Reigns is currently the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion while Bryan just returned from another injury, which he feared would lead to doctors talking to him about retirement. You can find his full comments about his recent injury by clicking here.
