Buddy Matthews Gives Latest Update On Ankle Injury

Buddy Matthews suffered an ankle injury at AEW Grand Slam Australia in February when he faced Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Championship. Matthews rolled his ankle before the match began, but went on to compete against Okada for over 13 minutes before losing.
In August, he announced he would be getting ankle surgery.
On his Instagram stories, Matthews was asked how his recovery is going.
He replied, “It’s been a long process! Still having nerve issues with a lot of numbness! But accepted that it’s gonna take time. Really thought I’d have returned to the ring by now but can only control what I can.”
It is unknown when Buddy Matthews will return to the ring.
Fightful wishes him the best as he continues to recover.
