Buddy Matthews Gives Update On Ankle Injury And Recovery

Buddy Matthews suffered an ankle injury at AEW Grand Slam Australia in February when he faced Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Championship. Matthews rolled his ankle before the match began, but went on to compete against Okada for over 13 minutes before losing.
In August, he announced he would be getting ankle surgery.
On Wednesday, Matthews posted the following update on his Instagram:
UPDATE: Today was the first time since surgery to hit a hack squat – still very restricted with ankle mobility but working on it daily! Numbness is still a factor but hopefully subsides in the near future but still unknown at this time. Swelling depends on the amount of rehab I’ve done that day but easily maintained with Icing post.
Take each day as it comes!
It is unknown when Matthews will return to the ring.
Fightful wishes him the best as he continues to recover.
