Buddy Matthews Returns At WSW Rise Against, Says He’ll Be Cleared In October

Buddy Matthews is back.
Matthews made his return at WSW Rise Against in Australia, attacking Donovan Dijak. Matthews appeared in a black hoodie behind Dijak with a chair.
Matthews hit Dijak with the chair before revealing himself. He followed up with a stomp to lay out Dijak.
Matthews then got on the mic and said he’s not cleared from his ankle injury, but will be cleared in October.

Buddy Matthews suffered an ankle injury at AEW Grand Slam Australia in February 2025 when he faced Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Championship. Matthews rolled his ankle before the match began, but went on to compete against Okada for over 13 minutes before losing.
