Before Roman Reigns was the Tribal Chief of WWE, he spent time on the gridiron, most notably at Georgia Tech where he played defensive tackle.
Reigns was teammates with wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who went on to become one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history.
Though they found greatness in different sports, their ties at Georgia Tech as team captains will forever keep them bonded.
"We knew he had a little background from his family," Johnson said on the Rich Eisen Show when asked if he knew about Roman's wrestling background and eventual stardom. "I don't think anybody knew that he would take off and go from playing football to wrestling and be the star that he is. That hair is really the star though [laughs]."
Johnson noted that he and Reigns touched base before the pandemic and said he would have to hit him up for tickets when WWE comes to town.
"It's awesome to see him doing that, just taking that thing over. That was Joe though. He was great at what he did when he played on the football field, so I expected nothing less," said Johnson.
It appears as if Calvin Johnson has acknowledged his Tribal Chief.
