Carlie Bravo Says It Was Like Love At First Sight After QT Marshall And Cody Rhodes Introduced Him To Shawn Dean
Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean on the creation of The Infantry.
Since forming with their team in 2021, Bravo and Dean have found success on the independent scene and in both AEW/Ring Of Honor. As it turns out, the partnership came together at the Nightmare Factory, a school that is ran by Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall.
Speaking with Fightful for a new interview, Bravo first spoke about how his team with Shawn Dean came to be.
“So basically I went to Nightmare Factory That’s how I started. I was trained by Cody and QT Marshall, and when I was coming out of my school, they had already been real tight with Captain. They pulled both of us aside separately and was like, ‘Hey, we got somebody that we think you guys might click together.’ I think they went to Captain first and was like, ‘Hey, we got this new kid. He salutes. He’s kind of just like you,’ and the rest from there was history. They introduced us and we took off from there. It was like love at first sight. So as soon we hooked up, it was a wrap from there.”
Dean followed that up by revealing what QT Marshall and Cody Rhodes said about them being the same person.
“Yeah, man. That’s how it happened. I was at the Nightmare Factory. I was training during the pandemic. I was already on board at AEW, kinda. Not even signed to a contract, just doing my thing on the extra side. Cody and QT came to me with Carlie Bravo’s name attached. Like he said, we were kinda the same person. Just on different spectrums. So I always tell people, man, Carlie is like my wildest thoughts, and I’m his tamest thoughts. You get what I’m saying? If that makes sense, like we’re like a yin and yang. We just fit together, peanut butter and jelly.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Shawn Dean said that the current version of Shane Taylor Promotions is the most complete version of the group. Fans can check out his full comments here.
